Trusting your Flow — the Seasons of your Soul

With every season comes change. The elements of each season flow from pleasurable warmth and delight to the colors of leaves to blankets of snow to spring gardens. The transformation can be subtle in some climates and more pronounced in others. Birds feel it as they know to migrate. Humans don’t always recognize their innate ability to grow and follow their inspirational flow.
When I returned from a trip to Thailand four years ago, I had experienced a profound need to change toward the simple life. How I came to recognize that need was in the flow of my daily walks at the beach. It was in the winter season, early March, when on my way to the beach I saw a little caretakers’ cottage for sale. It needed extreme renovations. As I viewed it, I knew it had lost its soul and I wanted to bring it back to life to the beauty and elegance it deserved. I immediately had a vision of what it could be. It was on an estate setting with an old (1875) manor and a gardeners’ cottage. The flow had been interrupted for many years. So I bought it to restore it and transform it with my flow.
By going through the process of renovations I began to discover ways to transform myself at the same time. I began to contemplate on my soul and how it related to what I was doing with the cottage. The new flow filled me with joy! I knew how important it was to be in a conversation with my soul everyday but this experience gave me a feeling of soul-awareness like no other.
Creating something in the flow is exhilirating because you get to reimagine, reconfigure what a physical transformation can also bring to your heart and soul. You begin to see the possibilities, the rewards and the ultimate joy of changing something which changes you. The evolution of your soul is gratifying and gives you the confidence to stay in the flow.
Three steps to be in your flow:
- Identify a project that you believe is worthy of your passion
- Give it your heart and soul
- Watch the changes in you
